My name is Brian Hubbard and fitness is a life style of mine!

I’ve been into fitness ever since I was young. I ran Track and Field for Brighton High School for four years and was able to get in the sub 5-minute mile pace. I also participated in many other sports outside of high school such as football, soccer, basketball and others to keep myself active. After High School, I served a two-year LDS mission in Brazil. Shortly after returning home, I got into a relationship with a girl that had great potential. However, it ended with a brake up after 6 months, BUT… this is what triggered my interest in fitness…seriously, it was the break up that started it all.

Brian torsoMy passion for fitness took me farther then just exercise, but inspired me to get my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah. Throughout my studies, I got really into half marathons and triathlons. I started to compete in these races and was placing in the top of my age group and sometime the top overall.  Even though I loved these endurance type races, the endurance body wasn’t what I was going for. I soon realized I didn’t want to look like a runner, but a guy who obviously hit the gym for weight training. Even months after I started weight lifting, I could see a difference. I worked extremely hard for 3 years and reached a level I was proud of! It was around this time that I was perused by a modeling agency that was looking for fitness models. I eventually signed with them, and long story short, I was getting paid to work out! It was a dream come true!

Besides fitness, I really enjoy buildinAmerican Ninja Warriorg and being creative, I figured I
would combine my interests and build an obstacle course in my back yard to continue my training, and reflect some of the obstacles that are shown on the TV show, America Ninja Warrior. After a lot of hard work building and training, I tried out for the show and made it! I learned that there are many ways in this world to keep in shape and have a fun experience at the same time.IMG_7311

This leads up to the present time. I am still fitness modeling, incorporating weight and endurance training (which is called HIIT training), calisthenics, a healthy diet, and lots of carbs and protein to stay in shape and build muscle. I have had Go-Dough before and I loved it, it gave me the right amount of energy for endurance competition and also for weight training! On top of all that, it tastes great!

To really push myself, I decided to try a physique competition. I will be competing in the NGA competition coming up in October of 2016 to see how I fair up against the other athletes out there. I have started to really take weight lifting seriously and for the next 3 months it will be hard to keep up with the schedule but I think it will all pay off in 3 months time! And just to make sure, I am about natural weight lifting, I’ll leave the steroids to other people…I want to live!

I know live and practice fitness daily and have made it a lifestyle that will continue with me throughout the years, on top of that I found the love of my life! My wife is into fitness just as much as I am! Couples that workout together stay together!
